Iron Velvet began with a simple lesson my mom taught me—confidence can start with something as small as a swipe of lipstick.

Growing up, when I was about to go anywhere without makeup; my mom would always tell me, “At least put some lipstick on so you don’t look pale.” I would smile, put on a little lip color, and head out the door.

What I didn’t realize then was that it was never really about makeup. It was about those moments, a ritual — a swipe of color, and suddenly I felt more put together, more comfortable, and more like myself.

That feeling is what inspired Iron Velvet — whether you're just waking up or running errands, working out, heading to work, going out with friends, or simply just showing up for yourself. Your powerful accessory has always been your confidence. Iron Velvet just gave it a color.
